This past weekend I made Mickey Mouse Oreo pops for my friend's son who turned two. Below are the step by step instructions for the pops and the stand.
Here's what I used for the Mickey Mouse Oreo pops:
Lollipop sticks, double stuf Oreos, white Smarties, red sprinkles & black and red candy melts
First, I melted the red candy melts using the double boiler method
Then, I dipped the Oreo halfway,
Covered half the Oreo in red sprinkles,
Placed two smarties on top and added two candy melts for the ears. To ensure that the "ears" stayed on I dipped the edge of each "ear" into the melted red candy melts and then stuck them on.
Lastly, I inserted the lollipop stick into the Oreo and put them aside to dry.
Here are the materials I used to make the pop stand:
Yellow construction paper, a sharpie, scissors, a hot glue gun, three pieces of floral foam & ribbon
First, I traced the outer edges of each piece of foam on the yellow construction paper, cut the circles out and set them aside.
Because two out of the three pieces of foam were wider than the ribbon I had to cover the edges of the green foam with black sharpie.
Next, I hot glued the ribbon around each piece of foam
Lastly, I hot glued the yellow circles of construction paper onto each piece of foam and hot glued each tier to one another.
I hope you enjoyed my Mickey Mouse Oreo Pops as much as the birthday boy did!
